Raven Black hunts evildoers for fun, but her vigilante justice isn't the only reason she's hiding from the law. Half vampire, half mage, she's spent years living as a rogue to stay alive.

Sure, he has cheekbones that could cut glass, not to mention bedroom eyes that could melt any girl into a puddle on the floor. Too bad that doesn't change the fact he's completely stab-worthy.

Take a journey back in time, to a place where Emma's lineage begins and where answers lie in unraveling secrets of the past. This is a story of forbidden love, an unbreakable bond, and the start of a dark adventure that will fill your heart with many emotions. I can feel it. I wake up in the middle of the night freaked out of my mind, paranoid a stranger is there.

And honestly this story took a wild turn for me. The ending was underwhelming to say the least. That was a huge loose end that needed to be tied up IMO. Not that Lucien is the only one who suffers from stupidity, Caia is an idiot about the whole situation. Sorry to be mean about it but this series started out so good and just went downhill for me making me really angry and maybe a bit bitter as well. I felt her pain, I felt his anger and hopelessness.

They had such a traumatic experience that I cried. I cried a lot at that one part. You know which I mean Lenore, right? But my God, the grammar! I just couldn't rate it a five for that. However, the rest is a solid A! In spinning this tale, the author didn't dwell on an issue for long. So once an event happens for the characters to react to, it moves forward quickly and on to the next proverbial hill to climb.

The scenes and characters are well written so the climb is easy. I couldn't put the book down because I had to know what was next! I read the other reviews where there was disappointment in how it ended. I totally get it now.

For those who have concern about that like I did and thought it would be about the characters meeting a horrific end or something along those lines - it's not! Thank goodness! I was a bit disappointed too. The way it ends leaves you with the story not finished but in another way it is finished. There is an expectation for the story to continue either in a spin-off or continuing saga.

I needed more and I didn't get it. She raised her eyebrows, looping her hands around his neck and wriggling provocatively.

New Rating - 3 stars. Re-read I want more! I hope, really hope, that Samantha Young will write more book for this series. Like 3. Just more, so we can see how the future is now, and if Caia is pregnant. I mean, wouldn't that be perfect? A little of Lucien and Caia's around? But, how we gotten it? It's been an honor, Caia and Lucien! I sincerely hope we meet again. New rate: 4.

As soon as i started reading it, I couldn't stop until I was finished with it.. Like with the whole series :P I give this book 4 stars : I loved the story, and got really surprised a lot of time Samantha had me hooked :P! I'm sad that I've finished the series.. Well we can always wish right?! View all 8 comments. Nov 06, Tiffany rated it liked it. Wow, I am surprised this book has an average rating of 4 plus!

I started off really enjoying the series and the characters. But this last book started to ruin it for me. The romance between Caia and Lucien really started to bug me in this book because they really are quick to be dishonest and distrustful of one another. If you are really truly in love with a person you would believe the best not the worst when something doesn't make sense like when Caia gets kicked out of the pack. And Wow, I am surprised this book has an average rating of 4 plus!

And Lucien publicly humiliates Caia when he kicks her out. Isn't she his mate, his other half? I just felt like they were twelve and petty instead of a young couple in love. If you don't have trust for one another then you don't have a real adult relationship. There were so many reasons that kept them apart and by the end I just wanted to give up on them.

Especially when Lucian lets Rose be around him all the time and even lets her kiss him. Yes, Hollywood seems to believe that when someone catches you off guard and kisses you that you would take a few seconds to realize what is happening and step away. Not so my friends! Have you ever had someone you didn't want to kiss try and kiss you? Well, you know that it's not hard to turn your cheek or pull your head back even a few centimeters to make a difference!

If Lucien really was in love with Caia he wouldn't have let Rose, his ex, be around him in private situations unless he was secretly waiting for her to kiss him. I mean come on, she hinted at them getting together so many times is he really that stupid? I don't think so! So sad that this book didn't hold up to the others! View 1 comment. It was so well written and sooooo very much going on! Reading the Lunarmorte series was my first introduction to Samantha Young and I have not only read more of her books because of how awesome this series was done but I eagerly look forward to all her future works! She is such an excellent writer with and excellent imagination and brings everything and everyone in her stories together so well and always leaves me happy and satisfied with the story read as well as looking forward to more!

There has been so much going on in the first two books of The Tale of Lunarmorte and so much more to come in Blood Solstice! Caia and Lucien and all their friends have had their lives turned upside down. With loved ones lost and everything they've all grown to believe brought into question. Now it's time for answers and solutions. I don't want to give away anything for those who haven't fully read Blood Solstice yet as the surprises are a big part of the enjoyment of the story. Blood Solstice, just like the first two stories in the series, was captivating from beginning to end, So many things going on, things answered and explained, people surprising you with their involvement in everything and our dear friends struggling to deal with it all and do the right things.

It is an excellent ending to the series although still leaves things open for a follow up Jun 25, Remarkable Reads rated it it was amazing. Read extras from the book and more reviews on my blog! This book picks up right where the last one left off, with Caia kidnapped by none other than Reuben.

It turns out that our favorite vamp is actually Kirios a 2, year old second generation blood sucker, who witnessed the start of the war between daylights and midnights. He has been waiting a long time for Caia to be born and finally bring this pointless war to an end, the only problem is she does not agree with his methods. Now Caia must make a choice that will have a huge impact on all magical creatures, while battling to save her pack along with the council from the clutches of Marita.

Let me start off by saying OMG! I could not have been more surprised to find that Reuben was the one who kidnapped her and has been behind the scenes the entire time waiting for the day when she would be born. I love that Samantha literally takes us over 2, years back to the past where we follow Reuben's journey and see how the war actually started and what part the Gods played in creating the trace that led to the existence of two separate coven's.

It was quite interesting to say the least. This book is very fast paced with non stop action and excitement which I am thankful for because I am so tired of authors dragging out events just get to the point already! Right away we have a battle in the begging of the story where lines are drawn and former enemies become allies and former allies become the enemies.

Then just when you think our characters will have some time to breathe and relax after fighting for their lives tragedy hits, and the pack is consumed with grief over their horrific loss. When I was reading this part I literally started to tear up, because I couldn't believe what had happened. Most authors tend to be shall we say a little skeptical about killing off some of their characters, but its refreshing to see that Samantha is not afraid to take that step and do drastic things, even if it is sad it only adds more to the story and helps build up our other characters.

Caia truly became a leader in this book, she did what she had to do in order to protect those she cares about even at the risk of not being with the one she loves most. I feel so proud of her and her will and determination, her journey from the beginning was filled with secrets and heartache but she conquered everything in her path and became to say it bluntly very KICK ASS! Jaeden also became a very dear character to me and I was so sad at all the pain she kept having to go through, and incredibly happy that she was also able to overcome all her demons and be the best she could be.

This series really takes you on an emotional journey, it makes you feel everything from shock and despair to overwhelming joy and relief with plenty of action mixed in to keep you eager to get tot the next page, and that is exactly what I look for. This book especially took all of those elements and made them even bigger until you kept wondering how much bigger it could possibly get. I can honestly say that I fell in love with series, Samantha does terrific job keeping readers engaged keeping each story exciting and suspenseful, there is not a single dull moment.

This book wrapped everything up beautifully but the ending leaves you thinking that there is more to come. Which luckily for us there is! I wish I could say I loved this trilogy. It had all the key elements to be a great ya romance novel except the romance part. There is couples in these books but between the dishonesty, drama and border line cheating on the male leads part just made it very distasteful as a romance.

Even at the end Lucien did not believe his mate about his ex lover. Yet she not only believes him about not kissing his ex along with several other idiotic things he does, she starts a relationship with him again to have herself kicked out because lucien wouldnt believe in her. When you are rooting for the obnoxious year old with no mention of romance to step up as the male lead there are issues.

Lucien was a very bad male lead, he reminded me of a petulant 12 year old most of the books. I kept waiting for him to step up and act like a mate. To the very end he did not. That aside if you like to read about a strong woman coming into her own this is the trilogy for you. Just dont expect a mate that is equal to that strength because he was not. Like I said I was disappointed in the characters but she has a great storyline. I hope in other books she cultivates her characters a bit better. This is the final installment in the Lunamorte trilogy. Caia is coming to grips with her power and stepping into her role as a leader. As usual, there has to be some disagreement between her and Lucien that could separate them forever. I don't really get it. Young does this in all of her novels. It always seems that something really minor causes this huge rift that we have to deal with. I do like the books though. They are pure escapism. Samantha Young's worlds are unique and fresh. I like how i This is the final installment in the Lunamorte trilogy. I like how in her paranormal books she focuses more on the humanity of her characters, instead of the supernatural side.

She has some great characters too. I love Reuben and Saffron. Also, she is great with the element of surprise. I'm never quite sure where the story is heading and that is refreshing. There is a happy end and Samantha Young doesn't feel the need to kill off multiple main characters, which is also appreciated.

I hate it when authors do that. Killing characters does not make it more "realistic. I don't read books looking for reality, I read books to escape from my own. Jun 08, Britt rated it it was amazing. The entire Lunarmorte trilogy was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be recommending it to anyone and everyone I know that enjoys paranormal romance as much as I do. And this trilogy has easily become one of my all-time favorites. Lucien and Caia's love was so passionate and I felt my heart aching with them so many times throughout the book.

I admit I wasn't a big fan of the reverse love triangle and was quick to become angry several times, but thankfully Samantha didn't put too much emphasis on it and I was able to get over it. It went a little bit as expected; not very surprising, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I really loved Reuben of all people. I thought his relationship with Caia was really cute and he played a big part in the end.

Lunarmorte: Part 3 - Blood Solstice

Speaking of the end, that last epilogue-thing with the Gods was unnecessary. I liked the 3 years later flashforward, but the information about the trace was not needed. It leaves something to be desired. Almost like a lead-in for another book So, unless there will be Book 4, that last tidbit was pointless, and slightly annoying. But, other than that, it was a pretty good end to a really cool series! Jul 22, Laura Holland rated it it was amazing Shelves: paranormal-young-adult-romance. I loved this book Out of the whole series this has to be by far my favourite! There were far too many 'put in the freezer moments' lol but i think thats why i loved it so much!

It ment to me that i had fully got attached to these characters! This is just an epic book from start to finish! I have to wonder though, is there going to be I loved this book I have to wonder though, is there going to be a spin off series!? I friggin hope so!!! Jan 14, Prerana rated it liked it Shelves: romance , ya , paranormal. I thoroughly enjoyed her as a character, and even though she's 18, she was a very strong MC. Lucien was the equivalent of the sole female in an action movie.

Simply there for eye candy and adds nothing to the plot. The battle was funny. It was still not written very well, which dampened my interest in the book as a whole. Is the epilogue leavin 3. Is the epilogue leaving room for more books? Because I don't know how to feel about that. Reuben was a fucking blast.

Saffron was a fucking blast. They both needed more page time. Marita was a useless villain. Still don't know half the people in the pack. Who is related to whom? At least there was a popping battle. I love war. Mating still makes no sense to me, but I rolled with it, so it was okay. Yeet, yeet. Overall not a bad book and not a bad series at all. It was more or less enjoyable. May 06, Tami rated it really liked it. While this book had the potential to be great, it wasn't quite as good as the 2nd book, River Cast.

So, we discover who Reuben is. And I have to say I like him even more now than before, kinda the bad guy or not. We learn more about Saffron and her past and I have to say, I love her too.. I forgot to mention her in the other reviews, but I actually like her. Bitchiness and all. She knows what she's doing and she's good at it. She acts like a bitch, but it seems more like there's an underlying hurt causing it, which is KIND OF mentioned in this book. I'm also sure that that underlying hurt's name is Kirios..

The war continues. Caia learns more about the war and how it started from Reuben, and just how far back it actually goes, as well as what is needed to 'end' it. As her powers grow so does she. She's quite strong for only And I have to admire her for all her choices she's made through out this book. Lucien is still an idiot.

Even moreso in this book than the last. He and Caia have reconciled, but Rose is still an issue, being forced to stay with The Pack for protection since she fought against Marita.

Nightforged by Carrie Summers in Shattering of the Nocturnai -clip2

And Lucien doesn't want to be jerk enough to make her stop. He says that if Rose is in love with him it doesn't matter because he loves Caia and that there's nothing between he and Rose. Ass hat.. I got really upset about his treatment toward Rose vs. I couldn't believe he kicked Caia out of the pack for deciding to do something he said he would support her on. I mean seriously? I was actually rooting for Reuben in this situation. Enough at least to cause Lucien to 'See the Light' No such luck.

Alexa and Jaeden become close, but the circumstances causing that are tragic. The Pack is continuously facing one dramatic and traumatic event after another until finally they are forced to leave. This also causes Caia to make the decision that forces Lucien to kick her out of the pack.
